Unity House Centres is intended to be locally adaptable rather than dependent on one council, borough or building. Each proposed node would begin with a real local need and an appropriate host, then be shaped around the resources, safeguards and partners available in that place. A permanent centre would only be considered after the hosted model has produced credible evidence.

Proposed Pilot 01 · Waltham Forest

Food is the first test resource stream

Visio Nova Mundi CIC is beginning locally by exploring a small hosted pilot in Waltham Forest. Pilot 01 would test surplus-food redistribution through an existing trusted community venue and specialist partners, without operating a new kitchen or presenting the pilot as an active service.

Waltham Forest is the proposed first test location. It does not define the geographic scope of Unity House Centres.

Why start small?

Learn before considering replication

Pilot 01 would examine local value, resource recovery, operational reliability, safety, partner experience, evidence quality and whether another trusted host could repeat the basic process. The purpose is to learn whether the Unity House operating model works before considering replication elsewhere in the UK.

Numerical targets would be agreed after local discovery. No impact figures, savings or outcomes are being claimed in advance.

Responsible development

What the current programme does not claim

Before any pilot could begin, host responsibilities, resource custody, food safety, insurance, safeguarding, data protection, logistics, evidence and governance would all need to be confirmed through the required readiness gates.

Unity House does not aim to replace community organisations that already work. It is being designed to connect, support and learn from existing local capability.

No operating centres

Unity House Centres is a proposed programme. No physical centre is currently operating.

No fixed resource stream

Food is proposed for Pilot 01; future nodes could use other resources where evidence and partners support them.

No automated eligibility

People would not be selected or rejected by AI, and sensitive data would be minimised.

No invented proof

Planning assumptions, synthetic records and future ambitions remain separate from real pilot evidence.

Unity House Centres is one proposed public-benefit branch of the broader Tree of Life framework. The programme could eventually connect local resource recovery with practical support, learning and opportunity—but only one branch or resource stream would be activated at a time when evidence and qualified partners justify it.

What support would help at this stage?

The immediate need is not a large grant or a new building. We are looking for careful exploratory conversations with potential hosts, suitable resource partners, evaluation partners and organisations able to offer relevant in-kind knowledge or capacity for a controlled local test.
